In honour of me (and what seems like the entire world) attending Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, we’re diving into the Swiftie universe and using each of her eras as inspiration for a mood-board for a stunning website. From the country roots of her self-titled debut to the folklore-inspired aesthetic, each phase of Taylor’s evolution has us inspired. So, grab your favourite cardigan, and let’s get designing website Eras!
1. Taylor Swift (Debut Era) website inspiration
The debut era was all about country roots and youthful charm, and we’ve taken inspiration from the synonymise sundresses and cowboy boots Taylor styled for this era. We’ve created a colour palette of natural tones and vibrant accents, paired with a fun but modern font pairing. Looking for website design examples? We think Free People and Anthropologie nail the Debut Era aesthetic with their rustic yet refined design.

2. Reputation Era website inspiration
Reputation saw Taylor dive into darker, more mysterious waters, so it was only right our suggested colour palette is stark, with blacks and greys contrasted by blood reds and steel blues. For the font, Impact’s bold weight is perfect for adding power to your headers, while Helvetica nicely contrasts this with timeless clarity for body text. High-fashion websites like Alexander McQueen and YSL capture this dark, edgy aesthetic.

Lover is all about soft, dreamy pastels and an airy, romantic vibe. We’ve crafted a Lover palette of beautiful pastels, from baby pinks to soft blues to reflect the album cover colour screen and to match the light tone of the songs. To pair with this palette, Pacifico’s playful script is perfect for headers, adding a whimsical touch, while Quicksand keeps the body text light and modern. Makeup sites like Milk Makeup and Too Faced perfectly reflect this colourful and fun aesthetic, and are great examples of a Lover Era website design.

Speak Now is about timeless elegance with a touch of vintage flair. Our suggested palette of deep purples and midnight blues create a rich, luxurious palette reflecting the album cover (one of our favourites). To continue this design style, we think the font Great Vibes brings a script elegance to headers, and recommend pairing it with the versatile sans-serif font Raleway, to ensure your body text remains clear and accessible. Ralph Lauren’s website is a fantastic example of this luxurious yet vintage-inspired style, or look to Urban Outfitters for a slightly modern-twist on this take.

6. Red Era website inspiration
The Red era was characterised by bold, passionate statements in Taylor’ lyrics and matching music videos. Naturally, deep blacks and intense reds are the key colours of the palette we’ve created for this era, capturing the fiery and emotional essence. This is perfectly matched with the Oswald font (in bold to keep with our design style) for making statements in your website headers, paired with Roboto’s clean lines font to keep your body text straightforward. Nasty Gal’s site, with its edgy, fashion-forward design, reflects the spirit of this era. Or look to ASOS for a slightly less edgy approach that may be more universally appealing.

Folklore and Evermore bring a rustic, indie feel, perfect for storytelling and soul-searching. Our palette for these Eras are earthy and muted, with moss greens and burnt sienna’s. And this same rustic approach is reflected in our typography choices of the classic EB Garamond for your headers, paired with Merriweather for your body text. Looking for websites that capture the minimalist style of the Folklore or Evermore Era? Look no further than brands like Madewell and Kinfolk, who capture this nature-inspired aesthetic beautifully.

8. 1989 Era website inspiration
1989 was Taylor’s full embrace of pop, marked by vibrant colours and sleek, modern designs. We’ve added a neon twist to this colour palette, to make the website design pop as much as the songs (disclaimer: I think this era may be my favourite), so the neon pinks and sky blues create a fun and energetic palette. Bebas Neue is a striking, modern sans-serif perfect for headers in a 1989 Era style, while Montserrat keeps the body text clean and stylish.
